Sarah E. Sharma is an Assistant Professor in the School of Political Studies at the University of Ottawa. Her work explores how power, politics, and economics influence environmental policy outcomes across transnational, national, and subnational scales, with a focus on urban climate resilience and energy transitions.

Her research examines three cross-cutting themes: urban climate resilience policies, the interplay between global governance and socio-ecological inequality, and the geopolitics of sustainable energy transitions. Projects include resilience governance in cities of the Global North and South and energy infrastructure in South/Southeast Asia.
Key positions held: Co-Director of Climate Change and Security at Réseau d’analyse stratégique (2023–present), Chair of the WISER Network (2022), Visiting Scholar at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (2019), and Visiting Fellow at International University, Bangladesh (2018–2019).
Teaching includes courses on negotiation and public organization theory (PAP4320 and PAP3370).
