Sarah E. Jones is an Assistant Professor in the School of Communication Studies at Ohio University. She holds a Ph.D. from Arizona State University. Her research focuses on the power and politics of gender in organizations, including studies on the milk banking industry, membership dynamics, and commodification of breastmilk. She has contributed to peer-reviewed journals like Management Communication Quarterly, Health Communication, and Feminist Pedagogy, as well as public outlets such as the Red Rock Relationships podcast.
Dr. Jones is a certified facilitator with StoryScope (U.S. Department of Arts & Culture affiliate) and the Institute for Civil Dialogue, integrating these into undergraduate teaching. She completed OHIO's Bruning Teaching Academy and participated in the 2022-23 Leadership Athens County program. Her work bridges academic and applied communication, emphasizing critical-qualitative methods and intersectional approaches.
She has been featured on WOUB's Defining Moments Podcast and actively engages in community leadership. Outside academia, she enjoys gourmet cooking, hiking, and tending to her garden and chickens.
