Sarah Covington is a Professor of History at the City University of New York, affiliated with both Queens College and the Graduate Center. She serves as Program Director for Irish Studies and the M.A. Program in Biography and Memoir, where she integrates folkloristics into historical analysis.

Research Interests span early modern Britain and Ireland, focusing on:
- Cultural history and memory
- History of violence and religion
- Folkloric methodologies in historical studies
- Postcolonial memory construction
Recent publications reveal trends in analyzing trauma, martyrdom, and memory through interdisciplinary lenses. Her 2022 monograph The Devil from over the Sea examines Cromwell's contested legacy in Ireland, while 2018 works explore folkloric sources and Protestant aesthetics.
