Dr. Sarah Castillo is a performance psychology specialist at University of Western States, focusing on mental skills training for athletes and performers. Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) and CMPC mentor through AASP, she serves as AASP's Professional Standards Division Head overseeing certification and ethics.
Research develops interventions for peak performance using:
- Mental skills training frameworks
- Mindfulness-based approaches
- Resilience building techniques
Previously directed Sport Psychology programs at National University where she launched the Center for Performance Psychology and edited the Journal of Performance Psychology. Work includes nine years as performance enhancement instructor at West Point, training collegiate and military athletes.
Current practice supports USOPC Paralympic track and field teams, collegiate athletes, and performers across domains.
