Sarah C. Adcock is an Associate Professor in the Department of Academic Information Services at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC). Her academic journey includes a B.S. in Health Information Management (1997), an M.L.I.S. from the University of Southern Mississippi (1998), and an Ed.D. in Education with a focus on Higher Education (2024). She holds licensure as a Librarian in Mississippi (2000–2025) and is a certified Senior Member of the Academy of Health Information Professionals (2003–2008).
Her research focuses on optimizing library spaces, improving user experiences through database design, and promoting evidence-based practice in healthcare education. Recent work includes studies on noise-level zoning in study spaces and digital signage for health resources. She has received awards including the 2024 Achievement in Higher Education and UMMC’s IV Line Customer Service Recognition (2003).
Dr. Adcock has held multiple leadership roles, including Board Member of the Southern Chapter of the Medical Library Association (2020–2023) and Wellness Champion for UMMC’s Office of Wellbeing (2017–present). She teaches courses like Evidence-Based Practice in Dentistry and contributes to interprofessional education initiatives across medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy programs.
