Dr. Sarah Bowie is an Adjunct Professor of Education at Newberry College. She holds a Ph.D. in Language and Literacy from the University of South Carolina (2016), an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership (2008), and a B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Presbyterian College (2003).
Her research examines biliteracy development and the cognitive impacts of bilingualism in early literacy acquisition. With 20 years of public education experience, she has served as an early childhood educator, Reading Recovery teacher, instructional coach, and literacy specialist.
Dr. Bowie possesses expertise in personalized learning frameworks, literacy intervention strategies, and curriculum standardization. She develops instructional methods that support emergent bilingual learners and align literacy education with developmental milestones.
