Sarah Beckmann is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Classics at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She specializes in Roman archaeology with a focus on domestic art and material culture in the Western Roman provinces. Her research examines late Roman villas, emphasizing regional distinctions among the elite through material culture analysis. She joined UCLA in 2018 after adjunct roles in Philadelphia and Los Angeles.

Her research interests include Roman statuary practices, late antique art, antiquarianism, and the analysis of legacy data. She has excavated in Greece, Italy, and France. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Roman visual/material culture and advises students on academic and non-academic career paths.
