Sarah Babb is a Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Sociology at Boston College, part of the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences. Her work focuses on globalization, economic sociology, political sociology, and historical institutional analysis. She holds a Ph.D. from Northwestern University.
Her research explores topics such as neoliberal globalization, international financial institutions, and the regulation of human research ethics. Notable awards include the 2020 ASA Global and Transnational Section Best Article Award (shared with Alexander Kentikelenis) and the 2011 ASA Global and Transnational Section Best Book Award for Behind the Development Banks.
