Sarah B. Dubbs

Sarah B. Dubbs is an Associate Professor in Emergency Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and serves as the Residency Program Director. Her clinical expertise spans oncologic and hematologic emergencies, medical education, and hospital administration.

• Education: B.S. in Biology (Neurophysiology) from University of Maryland, College Park (2005); M.D. from University of Maryland School of Medicine (2010); Emergency Medicine Residency (2010-2013); Faculty Development Fellowship (2014).

Dr. Dubbs specializes in hematologic and oncologic emergencies, with recent work focused on tumor lysis syndrome, chemotherapy complications, and pediatric oncologic emergencies. She actively contributes to medical education through textbooks, journal publications, and national lectures. Her research also explores quality improvement in emergency care and women's leadership in medicine.

Scientific awards include the ACEP National Junior Faculty Teaching Award, membership in the Gold Humanism Honor Society, and induction into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She has served as associate editor for Oncologic Emergency Medicine: Principles and Practice and as section editor for Corependium Textbook of Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Dubbs has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications and national educational initiatives, with a focus on rapid clinical reviews and textbook chapters. She previously practiced in community hospital settings before returning to University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC).
