Dr. Sarah Allen is a Professor of Medicine at the University of New Mexico, serving as Program Director for the Infectious Diseases Fellowship and director of the Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotic Treatment Clinic. She earned her Bachelor's and Master's from Stanford University and MD from the University of Louisville School of Medicine.
Her research focuses on infectious diseases, cystic fibrosis treatment, and global health initiatives. She has worked internationally as a Visiting Professor at Moi University in Kenya and in Côte d'Ivoire, documenting her experiences in the book 'Africa Letters'.
Dr. Allen's recent publications examine rural healthcare approaches and rare infectious disease cases. She received the UNM Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award for her work with residents and fellows.
