Sara Whittingham

Sara Whittingham, M.D. serves as a Clinical Professor at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), where she is affiliated with the College of Medicine and Department of Anesthesiology. An Air Force veteran and IronMan finisher, Dr. Whittingham brings unique perspectives from both military and athletic backgrounds to her medical practice and teaching.

Dr. Whittingham's research interests focus on anesthesiology with particular attention to Parkinson's Disease and veteran health issues. Her clinical work intersects with neurological disorders, providing specialized care for patients with complex medical conditions. As an active member of the medical community, she contributes to NEOMED's VITALS (Visionary Health Leadership in Action) speaker series, which highlights important health topics in collaboration with University Hospitals.

Her expertise in Parkinson's Disease was recently featured in a Continuing Medical Education (CME) accredited presentation at NEOMED, where she shared her personal experience living with the condition alongside her advocacy efforts on behalf of fellow veterans. The university designates this activity for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™, underscoring the clinical relevance of her work.
