Sara Smith

Sara Smith is a Lecturer and Chair of Sciences and Math at Beacon College. She holds a B.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Science from Pennsylvania State University and an M.S. in Anthrozoology from Canisius College.

Research Interests: Smith investigates public perceptions of wildlife, focusing on conservation, behavior, and management. Her work intersects with anthrozoology, ecological stewardship, and human-animal interaction.

Professional Experience: She has interned at the Pittsburgh Zoo and Humane Animal Rescue Wildlife Center, studied wildlife conservation in Tanzania, and worked as a biologist and animal caretaker in Dubai. Later, she founded a U.S.-based pet store and exotic pet rescue initiative.
