Sara Rutkowski is an Assistant Professor of English in the Department of English at Kingsborough Community College, City University of New York (CUNY), where she maintains an active academic appointment focused on literary scholarship and cultural analysis.

She is the author of The Literary Legacies of the Federal Writers’ Project: Voices of the Depression in the American Postwar Era (Palgrave, 2017) and has published extensively on postwar American writers and the cultural-political frameworks of twentieth-century global literature. Her current research examines Ralph Ellison’s fieldwork for the Federal Writers’ Project, bridging historical analysis with literary theory.
