Sara Poli is a full professor of EU Law at the University of Pisa’s Department of Political Science. She teaches EU law and external relations, with visiting roles at LUISS University (since 2024) and the European University Institute (2023). Her research focuses on EU external relations law, counterterrorism, restrictive measures, and technological sovereignty. She has held a Jean Monnet Chair (2013–2016) and participated in networks like EUDIPLO and EUCTER (2020–2024).
Education includes a PhD from Scuola Superiore S. Anna (Pisa) and a law degree from the University of Pisa. She has conducted research at universities in Rome, Trieste, and Southampton, supported by DAAD, Marie Curie, and Fulbright-Schuman fellowships.
Her work emphasizes judicial protection in restrictive measures, EU external policy coherence, and the legal dimensions of strategic autonomy. She has published extensively on EU sanctions mechanisms, citizenship rights, and the evolution of CFSP accountability.
