Sara Matthews

Sara Matthews is an Associate Professor in Communication Studies and Global Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University. She supervises students in the MA in Communication Studies and PhD in Global Governance programs.

Research Interests: Her work spans critical security studies, surveillance, drone technologies, war memory, and visual culture. She employs interdisciplinary methods from cultural studies, postcolonial theory, and critical race theory.

Creative Practice: Sara curates aesthetic projects examining conflict, loss, and futurity, with critical art writing featured in PUBLIC, FUSE Magazine, and galleries like the Robert Langen Gallery and Circuit Gallery.
