Sara Mackenzie is Department Head and Associate Professor of Linguistics at Memorial University's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Her research examines phonological representations, harmony systems, and interfaces between phonetics-phonology and morphology-phonology, with emphasis on contrastive feature theories and Stratal Optimality Theory.
Recent publications analyze vowel harmony through feature-based frameworks and structure preservation in phonological theory.
