Sara K. Redd

Sara K. Redd is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Behavioral, Social, and Health Education Sciences at the Rollins School of Public Health, Emory University. She also serves as the Director of Research Translation for the Center for Reproductive Health Research in the Southeast (RISE).

Dr. Redd is an interdisciplinary scholar focusing on domestic sexual and reproductive health (SRH) policy, structural determinants of SRH care access, and multilevel SRH stigma. Her work emphasizes the Reproductive Justice framework, highlighting sociopolitical systems’ role in SRH inequities, particularly in the U.S. South. She collaborates with local and national reproductive health organizations.

Her recent research trends from 2021–2025 include systematic reviews on abortion complications, analyses of Georgia’s SRH policy landscape, studies on contraceptive access disparities, and explorations of disinformation in family planning settings. These works intersect public health policy, reproductive justice, and health equity.
