Sara Jay

Sara Jay is a Lecturer in the Department of Jewish, Islamic, and Middle Eastern Studies at Washington University in St. Louis. She holds a PhD from Washington University in St. Louis (2015). Her teaching focuses on global Jewish history, including courses on Becoming Modern, the North African Jewish Experience, and Jews of the Americas.

Her research examines Jewish migrations from North Africa to Europe, Israel, and the United States. Dr. Jay has been recognized for her teaching excellence with the Washington University Dean's Teaching Award. She was recently highlighted in the St. Louis-Post Dispatch for innovative online pedagogy.
