Sara J. Berman serves as Professor of Lawyering Skills and Director of the Academic Success Program at the University of Southern California's Gould School of Law. She previously held leadership roles at the AccessLex Center for Legal Education Excellence in Washington, D.C., and faculty/administrative positions across law schools in California, New York, and Florida.
Her research focuses on critical legal education challenges including student success methodologies, bar examination preparation, professional licensing systems, and innovations in distance learning. As an early adopter of online legal education, she taught for 15 years at the first fully online law school. Her work significantly addresses the needs of self-represented litigants within the justice system.
