Sara Hopkins

Sara Hopkins is an Associate Professor in Graduate Counseling at Trevecca Nazarene University. She holds a B.A. from Arkansas Tech University, an M.M.F.T. and Ph.D. from Trevecca Nazarene University. Alongside teaching, Dr. Hopkins maintains a private practice in Nashville, providing therapy to individuals and couples while serving as an AAMFT-approved clinical supervisor and supervisor mentor.

Her research focuses on:

• Training new clinicians in counseling science and art
• Marriage and family therapy techniques
• Clinical supervision methodologies

Prior to teaching, she directed a college counseling center for over 10 years, worked as a counselor for children in foster care, and served as a case manager for families in state custody. Dr. Hopkins is originally from rural Arkansas and resides in Middle Tennessee with her family.
