Sara Guzman-Reyes

Sara Guzman-Reyes is a Professor at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston, Department of Anesthesiology. She serves as Director of Acute Pain Medicine Services at LBJ Hospital and specializes in Regional Anesthesiology.

Dr. Guzman-Reyes earned her Nursing Associate Degree from Antillian College in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, followed by her MD (Magna Cum Laude) from Instituto Tecnologico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) Medical School in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She completed both her Transitional Year Residency and Anesthesiology Year Residency at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston.

Her expertise spans clinical anesthesiology with specialized focus on acute pain management and regional anesthesia techniques. As an academic physician, she contributes to medical education while maintaining active clinical practice.

Since August 27, 2007, Dr. Guzman-Reyes has served as faculty in the Department of Anesthesiology and maintains dual appointments as Attending Anesthesiologist at Memorial Hermann Hospital and Lyndon B Johnson Hospital in Houston, Texas, demonstrating her commitment to both academic medicine and patient care.
