Sara Gevurtz is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Art & Art History at Auburn University's College of Liberal Arts. She holds an MFA in Digital Media Art from San Jose State University and a BS in Ecology, Behavior, and Evolution Biology from UC San Diego.
Her interdisciplinary artistic practice addresses ecological and environmental issues through video and experimental animation. Gevurtz's work investigates human-environment relationships through endangered species depictions, water quality visualization, and agricultural systems analysis.
She teaches undergraduate courses including Introduction to Digital Art, 2D/3D Animation, and Advanced Animation. Her international exhibitions span Korea, England, Germany, Italy, Poland, and Chicago, with invited presentations at conferences in South Africa, Colombia, and Hong Kong.
