About
Sara Ganzerli is a Professor in Civil Engineering at Gonzaga University. Her research focuses on Optimal structural design considering uncertainties, Masonry structures and components, and Structure and materials of historical Walser houses. She has contributed to structural engineering through publications on truss optimization, seismic behavior of masonry, and uncertainty modeling using convex theories.
Research Interests:
- Optimal structural design with uncertainty quantification
- Analysis and preservation of masonry structures
- Historical Walser houses' architectural materials
- Seismic resilience in confined masonry systems
Notable Trends in Publications: Her work spans structural optimization (1998-2014), comparative studies of uncertainty modeling methods (2001), and seismic behavior analysis of masonry structures (2023). Recent projects include heritage conservation of high-altitude Italian Alps architecture (2025).
