Sara Fateixa

Sara Fateixa is a Researcher at the Department of Chemistry, University of Aveiro (UA), affiliated with NanoLab@UA/CICECO. She holds a PhD in Nanosciences and Nanotechnology (2013) and has conducted postdoctoral research funded by FCT grants. Her work bridges nanomaterials, Raman spectroscopy, and sustainable technologies for environmental and biomedical applications. She is a Topic Editor for Sensors and Reviewer Board member for Biosensors.

Research Interests:

• Textile-based SERS substrates for biosensing and water quality monitoring
• 2D hybrid materials (graphene oxide, MoS₂) functionalized with nanoparticles
• Raman imaging for pharmaceutical and biomedical diagnostics
• Collaborative projects with institutions in the US, Norway, UK, Germany, and Italy

Her work on 3D-printed sensors and green nanomaterials has received international awards, including the WITec Silver Prize (2017).
