Dr. Sara Benedí Lahuerta is an Associate Professor at University College Dublin's Sutherland School of Law, where she joined in December 2019. She serves as Academic Director of French Law Programmes and Co-Convenor of the Equality Studies Centre Cluster. Previously, she was Lecturer in Employment Law at the University of Southampton and founding Director of the Stefan Cross Research Centre for Women, Equality and Law.
Her research examines discrimination and employment law at EU and comparative levels, specializing in enforcement mechanisms, pay equity, EU equality directives, and migration-discrimination intersections. She leads several major projects including 'Bridging the GPG through transparency' and 'Rethinking EU Equality Law'.
She teaches Employment Law: Rights, Law and Hate, and French Law courses. Recognized for teaching excellence, she received University of Southampton's Vice-Chancellor's Teaching Award and multiple UCD Teaching Excellence nominations.
