Sanjay Seth

Prof. Sanjay Seth is a Professor of Postcolonial Theory and Political Thought at the School of International Relations, University of St Andrews. His research focuses on postcolonial theory, political thought, and the intersections of history, sociology, and philosophy. He has authored and edited numerous works exploring themes such as decolonization, Eurocentrism, epistemology, and global political theory.

His notable publications include The Bandung Imaginary (2024), Reconceiving the Practice of History (2023), and Postcolonial Politics (2022). His work critiques Eurocentric frameworks and examines the global South’s intellectual contributions to social sciences and humanities.

Seth’s research interests span postcolonial critiques of comparative political theory, the historiography of colonialism, and the anthropocene’s implications for marginalized narratives. He has collaborated with international scholars and edited volumes on Dipesh Chakrabarty’s influence and subaltern studies.
