Sanja Panovska

Dr. Sanja Panovska is a leading scientist in geomagnetism and paleomagnetism at the GFZ Helmholtz Centre for Geosciences, specializing in the Earth's magnetic field dynamics, geomagnetic excursions, and reversals. She has been a postdoctoral scientist at GFZ since 2016, became a Principal Investigator in 2023, and leads projects like the ERC-funded 'EXCURSION' initiative. Her work focuses on reconstructing the geomagnetic field over millennia, linking it to core dynamics and space climate impacts.

Education: Ph.D. in Geophysics from ETH Zurich (2012), M.Eng. and Diploma from the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius, Skopje. Prior experience includes postdocs at Scripps Institution of Oceanography and GFZ.
