Sandra Vlasnik is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Information Systems and Quantitative Analysis at the University of Nebraska Omaha's College of Information Science & Technology. She transitioned from an adjunct instructor (1998) to full-time faculty in 2005. Her teaching focuses on programming languages, software development, database systems, and IT ethics. She coordinates diversity and inclusion initiatives and chairs the WiSTEM Pro2 board. Dr. Vlasnik earned a BS in Computer Science/Physics (1988) and an MS in Computer Science/Software Engineering (2013), both from UNO.
Research interests include software development methodologies. She was honored with the 2014 Tech Educator Award and 2009 UNO Alumni Teaching Award. Professional service roles include:
