Sandra Sutherland Rahman

Dr. Sandra Sutherland Rahman serves as a Professor in the Department of Marketing at Framingham State University (FSU), currently on sabbatical for Fall 2025 semester, and previously held the position of Department Chair.

Her research centers on international stakeholder discourse regarding labor conditions in developing nations, corporate responsibility frameworks, and entrepreneurship education. With over 25 years of scholarly activity, she has extensively published on Bangladeshi garment manufacturing trade relationships and US importer dynamics, particularly examining child labor dilemmas through her dissertation "The Global Stakeholder's Message, The Firm's Response, and An Interpretation of the Ensuing Dilemma: From Tin Sheds to Brick Houses". She actively promotes entrepreneurial development through international business plan competitions in Bangladesh and faculty workshops across Southeast Asia.

Dr. Rahman pioneered the "Doing Business Abroad" course at FSU, leading over 10 international faculty-student trips to China, Russia, and Brazil while integrating on-campus instruction with experiential learning. Her teaching methodology expertise includes conducting summer workshops on Case Study pedagogy at University Technology of Malaysia.

Her educational outreach spans marketing instruction in Bangladesh, China, and Malaysia, along with developing curricula for global business education. Current academic activities include sabbatical research while maintaining Crocker Hall 218 as her designated office location.
