About
Sandra May is a full professor for numerical methods for PDEs at the Institute of Mathematics of TU Berlin. Her research focuses on developing numerical methods for hyperbolic systems of conservation laws, particularly finite volume and discontinuous Galerkin methods. She specializes in stable schemes for cut cell meshes and integrates hyperbolic problems with optimal control, as well as two-phase flow challenges.
Research Interests:
- Numerical analysis of PDEs
- Finite volume and discontinuous Galerkin methods
- Hyperbolic conservation laws
- Optimal control applications
- Two-phase flow modeling
