Professor Sandra M. Rogers has been a faculty member at North Carolina Central University for over 50 years. She teaches courses on society and law, the family, social psychology, American minority groups, and social problems. As former director of the CBSS Teach-Out program and lead sociology advisor, she has played significant roles in curriculum development and student advising throughout her career.
Professor Rogers chaired the NCCU Faculty Senate during 2011-2013, overseeing the selection of the university's first permanent African-American female chancellor. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes student empowerment and developing 'positive change agents' in communities.
