Sandra K. Prunty, Ph.D., RN, is a Professor in the School of Nursing at Marshall University. She has been teaching since fall 2005, specializing in undergraduate nursing programs including pre-licensure and RN to BSN tracks. Dr. Prunty served as Director of the RN to BSN Program for 12 years and has held leadership roles in academic committees and professional nursing organizations.
- Education: MSN from Marshall University (Family Nurse Practitioner emphasis, 1992), Ph.D. in Nursing from University of Kentucky (1999).
Her research focuses on nursing education, with prior work on symptoms of myocardial infarction by sex and gender identity. She has served as principal or co-investigator on multiple research projects since 2008, presenting findings at international, national, and regional conferences.
