Sandra Cassotta

Sandra Cassotta is an Associate Professor in International, Environmental, and Energy Law at Aalborg University's Department of Law, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. She holds additional roles as Lead Author on Environmental Governance and Polar Regions for the IPCC, Adjunct Professor at Western Sydney University, and Fellow at institutions such as the Sustainability College Bruges and the Institute for Security and Development Policy.

Her education includes a PhD in Law and Master’s in Political Science. Her research focuses on environmental law, climate governance, Arctic security, energy geopolitics, and interdisciplinary approaches blending law with international relations and environmental science.

Key projects include the EU-funded JUSTNORTH initiative on Arctic environmental justice and studies on seabed mining and digitalization in climate adaptation. She teaches courses on climate law, energy security, and international environmental law across multiple institutions.
