Sandhya AS

Dr. Sandhya AS serves as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Bielefeld's Faculty of Sociology, Department 10 - Economy and Work. She is actively engaged in the Research Training Group 'Cross-border Labor Markets: Transnational Market Makers, Infrastructures, Institutions' (GRK 2951) under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Ursula Mense-Petermann.

Her research focuses on transnational labor dynamics, examining how market makers, infrastructures, and institutions shape cross-border labor flows. With a foundation in Sociology and Social Anthropology, her work investigates the intersection of economic structures, migration patterns, and institutional frameworks across national boundaries. Her position is based in Building X B2-241 at the University of Bielefeld.

Dr. AS completed her doctoral studies at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies and University of Duisburg-Essen (2018-2023), following previous research and editorial positions at institutions in New Delhi including the Institute for Human Development and Springer's Indian Journal of Labour Economics.
