Sandeep Mittal

Sandeep Mittal is a Professor of Neurosurgery, Oncology, and Biomedical Engineering at Wayne State University School of Medicine, serving as Chair of the Department of Neurosurgery. He is also Neurosurgeon-in-Chief at the Detroit Medical Center and Karmanos Cancer Institute, with secondary faculty appointments in Biomedical Engineering.

His research focuses on translational neurosurgery, supported by NIH funding.

Scientific awards include the Governor General's Medal, Wilder Penfield Award, and multiple fellowships and distinctions from institutions like the Montreal Neurological Institute, Brain Science Foundation, and Karmanos Cancer Institute. He has been recognized as a Top Doc in Detroit (2010-2017) and Best Doctor in America (2009-2017).
