Samuel Wentz

Samuel Wentz is a dance and performance artist affiliated with the Sharon Disney Lund School of Dance at California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) since 2018, initially as Adjunct Faculty and transitioning to Regular Faculty in Fall 2022. He holds an MFA in Dance and Choreography from Bennington College (2016) and a BFA in Dance from NYU Tisch School of the Arts (2009).

Research and Creative Practice: Focuses on choreography and improvisational performance, blending pedagogical approaches with experimental studio and gallery-based works. His projects have been presented at venues like the Geffen Contemporary at MoCA and REDCAT, emphasizing re-staging historical works by pioneers like Trisha Brown. Recent collaborations include remounting Brown's pieces for the Lyon Opera Ballet (2019) and teaching at P.A.R.T.S. (Brussels) and universities such as Yale and UC Berkeley.
