Samuel Talcott, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy. His research focuses on the history of philosophy, continental philosophy, ethics, philosophy of medicine, and social-political philosophy with a particular emphasis on 20th century French thinkers like Georges Canguilhem and Michel Foucault. He teaches courses on intellectual heritage, ethics, philosophy of medicine, and philosophy of race, class, and gender.

His research explores intersections between modern philosophy and the life sciences, particularly examining concepts of biopower and error through Canguilhem's work.
