Dr. Samuel Stroope is Professor of Sociology at LSU, examining how social contexts—especially religion and disasters—shape health disparities. His mixed-methods research addresses resilience in vulnerable populations.
Education: PhD Sociology (Baylor University, 2013).
Research: Funded by NSF and NIH, Dr. Stroope analyzes disaster recovery trajectories post-Deepwater Horizon oil spill, focusing on child/parent health.
