Samuel McMillan is Assistant Professor in the English Department at Flagler College. With a PhD from Pennsylvania State University, he teaches courses including Medieval/Renaissance literature, adventure literature, graphic novels, and creative writing.
Research explores authorship, aesthetics, and cultural representations in medieval and early modern literature. Special interests include Chaucer, Arthurian legends, and experiential pedagogy through adventure literature programs that combine textual analysis with fieldwork.
Publications focus on 15th-16th century English poetry, examining poetic authority and political allegory. Recent work analyzes John Lydgate's influence on Tudor court culture and Thomas Hoccleve's authorial strategies.
