Samuel Mason

Samuel Mason is a researcher at the University of Duisburg-Essen's School of Humanities, Department of Philosophy. His work centers on meta-ethics with a focus on sentimentalism and moral psychology.

Research interests: Dr. Mason explores the intersection of emotional fit, normative expectations, and moral realism. His scholarship integrates phenomenological perspectives with analytical frameworks to examine moral sentiments and their role in ethical theory.

Academic contributions: His 2023 article in The Philosophical Quarterly investigates dimensions of emotional alignment within meta-ethical contexts. Current teaching engagements include seminars on moral sentimentalism, philosophy of color, and emotional values.

Collaborations: Active participant in the MetaEssen conference series and affiliated with the PhEEL research group. Coordinates doctoral-level seminars on mental content and normative ethics.
