Samuel Huber

Prof. Dr. Samuel Huber is a leading academic in gastroenterology and immunology at the University of Hamburg's Faculty of Medicine, serving as Director of the I. Department of Medicine and Head of Molecular Gastroenterology and Immunology. His work focuses on immune-mediated diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and liver, particularly inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). He has pioneered research on cytokine networks (e.g., IL-22, IL-10, IFNγ) and microbiota interactions in disease pathogenesis.
