Samuel DeAngelis

Samuel "Sammy" DeAngelis is a Part-Time Lecturer in Percussion at the Eastman School of Music, concurrently pursuing his Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) degree at the same institution. His academic journey includes a Bachelor's degree in Percussion Performance from Florida State University (2021) and a Master's in Percussion Performance and Literature from Eastman (2023).

Research Focus: Sammy specializes in classical and contemporary percussion performance, with emphasis on collaborative new music initiatives. As a founding member of the trio 3D Percussion, he actively premieres works by composers like Michael Burritt, Matt Curlee, and Grammy winner Billy Childs, contributing to innovative ensemble repertoire.

Performance Career: He has performed internationally with the Eastman Percussion Ensemble across the US and China, demonstrating expertise in both traditional and experimental percussion disciplines.
