Samuel D. Hensley, MD, is a Surgical Pathologist in the Department of Anatomic Pathology at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center and holds the academic rank of Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. He earned his M.D. from West Virginia University and a summa cum laude M.A. in Bioethics from Trinity International University. His postgraduate training includes residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center and a Neuropathology fellowship at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology.
Dr. Hensley's research integrates pathology with ethical inquiry, focusing on:
- Genetic ethics and philosophical constructs of personhood
- Theological foundations of human dignity
- End-of-life decision-making in clinical practice
- Pastoral care intersections with bioethics
He directs a 4th-year medical elective in Contemporary Christian Bioethics and holds leadership roles in multiple ethics committees, including at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center and the Christian Medical and Dental Associations National Ethics Commission.
