Samuel Buggeln is a Visiting Lecturer at Cornell University's Performing and Media Arts department, affiliated with the College of Arts and Sciences. He is also the founding Artistic and Executive Director of The Cherry Arts, a multi-arts hub in Ithaca, New York, focusing on "radically local, radically global, and formally innovative" theater. His career spans over a decade in NYC as a freelance director and collaborator with institutions like the Lark Play Development Center and New Ohio Theatre, where he earned a Drama Desk nomination.

Buggeln has received grants from the Peg Sandtvoord Foundation and NYSCA, and he serves as chair of the English Language Committee for Eurodram. His work has appeared at prestigious venues including the Atlantic, New York Theatre Workshop, and London’s National Theater.
