Samuel Ball

Samuel Ball is the Harold W. Jockers Professor of Psychiatry and Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs at Yale School of Medicine. He holds dual appointments in the Office of the Dean and the Department of Psychiatry. His expertise spans addiction treatment, personality disorders, and healthcare professional well-being.

His work also addresses healthcare worker mental health during crises and cultural adaptation of therapies for Spanish-speaking populations.

His articles highlight themes of disaster stress management, mobile health innovations, and policy responses to addiction epidemics. Ball is actively involved in academic leadership, mentoring junior faculty, and institutional resilience-building initiatives.
