Samira Sarabandikachyani is a Visiting Professor at Miami University's Architecture and Interior Design department. She holds a Ph.D. in Architecture from the University of Cincinnati, alongside a Historic Preservation Certificate and a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from SUNY Albany. Previously, she earned a Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Tehran.
Her research focuses on the History and Theory of Architecture, Architecture of Borderlands, Colonialism in Architecture, and Theories of Precedent and Interpretation. She has taught courses such as History of Architecture I and has held roles including Adjunct Instructor at University of Cincinnati and Lecturer at Sistan and Baluchistan University.
Notable awards include the Graduated Assistantship Award (2015–2018), a Professional Award for 'Palenville, New York Greenway Plan' (2014), and the 9th Khwarizmi Young Award (2007). She founded Otagh-E-Abi Architectural Engineering Studio in 2011 and is a member of Iran's National Elites Foundation (INEF) and Iran Construction Engineering Organization (IRCEO).
