Samira Monavvari, MD, is an Instructor in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Loma Linda University School of Medicine. Her current role centers on clinical teaching and research in obstetrics and gynecology.
Research Interests:
Dr. Monavvari’s research focuses on the intersection of environmental exposures and maternal–fetal health. In particular, she investigates how wildfire smoke and other environmental stressors during pregnancy may influence the risk of congenital anomalies such as gastroschisis. Her work employs large-scale population-based cohorts to quantify these associations and inform public-health recommendations for expectant mothers.
