Sami Dridi

Sami Dridi is a Professor in the Department of Poultry Science at the University of Arkansas. His research focuses on avian endocrinology and molecular genetics, addressing critical challenges in poultry production such as heat stress, metabolic disorders, and sustainability.

• Education: Accreditation to Supervise Research (HDR) from University Paris XI (2012), PhD and Master's in Molecular and Cellular Biology from INPL-INRA (2001, 1998), Engineering Degree in Animal Science from ESAM Tunisia (1995), and B.S. in Math and Science from School of Mateur (1990).

Research Interests: Dr. Dridi's laboratory investigates mechanisms underlying heat stress response, progression of metabolic disorders (e.g., woody breast, lameness), and regulation of energy homeostasis in avian species. His work aims to identify molecular signatures for improving poultry well-being and production sustainability.

Teaching: He teaches graduate-level Biochemical Nutrition (POSC/ANSC 5143) and seminars, emphasizing problem-solving and interdisciplinary approaches.

Labs & Teams: Dr. Dridi leads a research team focused on integrative physiological studies and molecular approaches in poultry science.
