Sami Alpanda is Associate Professor of Economics at UCF's College of Business. He holds a PhD in Economics from University of Minnesota (2004) and previously served as researcher at Bank of Canada.
His research investigates monetary/fiscal policy transmission, housing market dynamics, and macro-financial linkages. Recent publications examine household debt impacts on fiscal policy effectiveness, labor market monopsony, and cyclical income distribution patterns.
Dr. Alpanda's work employs dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (DSGE) modeling to analyze international spillovers of asset purchases, regulatory arbitrage effects on stability, and exchange rate intervention strategies. His research contributes to understanding business cycle implications of market power in labor/product markets.
