Sam Truman

Sam Truman is a 2023–2025 Samuel H. Kress Predoctoral Fellow at the Courtauld Institute of Art. She is also a PhD candidate in the Department of Art History and Art at Case Western Reserve University, focusing on ghost representations in Northern European medieval manuscripts from 1100–1500.

• BA in Liberal Studies from Shimer College
• MA in Religious Studies from the University of Chicago Divinity School

Her research bridges medieval art history, religious iconography, and manuscript studies, emphasizing visual culture and cultural history of the Middle Ages.
